The Wellesley: Luxury Yacht Featured on Below Deck Mediterranean

Calling all yacht enthusiasts and Below Deck fans! This post dives into the luxurious M/Y The Wellesley, the impressive vessel that stole the show in season five of Below Deck Mediterranean.

A Filmy Facade

While the show named it "The Wellington," this 184.5-foot (56.2-meter) superyacht boasts the elegant title M/Y The Wellesley. Captain Sandy Yawn and her crew whisked charter guests around the idyllic Spanish resort town of Mallorca aboard this beauty.

A Timeless Beauty

Built in 1993 by the renowned Dutch custom yacht builder Oceanco, The Wellesley underwent a major refit in 2016. With a cruising speed of 14 knots and a maximum speed of 16 knots, she offers a perfect blend of elegance and performance. The exterior boasts the design expertise of Gerhard Gilgenast, while the interior oozes 1920s glamour thanks to the masterful touches of Donald Starkey.

Stepping Inside

Imagine mahogany bedrooms adorned with Italian linens, portraits of cigar-wielding icons like Winston Churchill and Che Guevara, and a pervasive sense of Jazz Age sophistication. Captain Sandy Yawn herself remarked, "Obviously, they spared no expense when it comes to this. This owner really loves his cigars and his whiskey."

Accommodating Luxury

The M/Y The Wellesley offers luxurious accommodations for up to 12 guests in a master suite, a VIP suite, 3 triple cabins, and 2 pullman beds. A dedicated crew of 12 ensures an unparalleled level of service throughout your stay. This superyacht caters to both grand family vacations and sophisticated corporate retreats with its impressive array of amenities.

Unwinding in Style

The extensive leisure and entertainment facilities onboard make The Wellesley ideal for creating unforgettable memories. Imagine basking on the expansive open deck, indulging in the club lounge, or taking a refreshing dip in the sun deck's spillpool. A cascading jacuzzi, a fully equipped gym, and a dedicated cigar room round out the luxurious offerings.

Chartering Paradise

The cost to charter The Wellesley varies depending on the season. Summer charters start from €230,000 (approximately $273,500 USD) per week, while winter charters begin at €220,000 (approximately $259,500 USD) per week, with additional expenses to consider.
